Better Energy and Statkraft expand collaboration — EnergyWatch

In early 2022, Statkraft facilitated the establishment of a photovoltaic farm in Poland with the signing of a 36MWp PPA. Now, the Norwegian energy company is expanding its collaboration with the project developer, Danish Better Energy, with PPAs for three more parks. In total, the partnership in Poland between the two parties will now amount to 150GWh.

”The expansion of our extensive partnership with Statkraft, one of Europe’s largest energy companies, is an important step forward for Better Energy in Poland and is great news for the Polish energy transition,” says Better Energy’s director of PPAs, Mikkel Thorup.

”PPAs are seen as an important tool to increase renewable energy production in Poland and reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, while allowing companies to purchase cheap green energy.”

The three new solar farms that have been agreed are Krapkowice, Helenowa and Nidzica. While the first farm in the duo’s Polish partnership was still under development, these are three solar farms that are all grid-connected.
