Formula 1’s Las Vegas GP opening practice canceled due to manhole cover

Las Vegas Grand Prix’s Free Practice 1 was canceled less than 10 minutes into the session on Thursday due to the concrete frame around a manhole cover failing, damaging Esteban Ocon’s Alpine as well as the engine, energy store, and control electronics of Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari.
